Notes on the Office for the week of Christmas (December 23 - 30, 2018)

This week marks the end of Advent and the start of Nativitytide.

Keep in mind that Christmas Day is not a Sunday, so although festal psalms are used at Matins, Lauds and Vespers, the other hours use the normal psalms of Tuesday.  Similarly, the Octave is Class II, not Class I as at Easter and Pentecost, so the same principle applies throughout the Octave.

You can find more detailed notes on the Office during this period here.

For those who want to say Matins, or at least take a look at the readings for that hour, take a look at the Lectio Divina Notes Blog.

And have a happy and holy Christmas!

Those new to this form of the Office should consult the Learn to say the Office page on this blog.
